Forehead and Eyes: This forehead and eyes exercise shifts your eyebrows to strengthen muscles to help smooth forehead lines.

  • Put your index fingertips right above each of your eyes.
  • Pull down on the eyes, and at the same time lift up your eyebrows.
  • Do 10 repetitions.

Cheeks: Perform this exercise to round out and plump up your cheeks.

  • Stretch your mouth open to form a long 'O'.
  • Curl your upper lip over your teeth.
  • Then smile to lift up the cheek muscles.
  • Place your index fingers on top of those cheek muscles.
  • Relax your cheeks back to their normal positions, and then lift those cheek muscles again.
  • Do 10 repetitions, then move your fingers away.

Nasal / Labial Folds: Pufferfish is a well-known facial exercise that helps with nasal labial folds and smile lines.

  • Take a deep breath.
  • Puff the air out into your cheeks, hold your breath, then breathe out.
  • Do 10 repetitions.

  Lips: Do this exercise to plump up your lips.

  • Place your thumb in your mouth, and suck on it as hard as possible.
  • Keep sucking as you slowly remove your finger from the mouth.
  • Do 10 repetitions.

Do Experts Believe Facial Exercises Actually Work?

A facial fitness program offers a simple, natural and inexpensive way to gain a youthful facial appearance, and the experts tend to agree.   One study showed dermatologists “before and after” photographs of participants who had done facial exercises. The dermatologists didn’t know which photo was before or after. The dermatologists estimated the participants looked, on average, about three years younger after the 20 weeks of exercises. The most dramatic effect was upper and lower cheek fullness, which looked more rounded and appeared fuller.
